This policy explains what the game "Slash" (the "App") collects and why.
What stays on your device
Your game progress (gold, items, recipes, level, settings, and whether you removed ads) is saved locally on your device. You do not need an account to play, and unless you choose the optional cloud save below, we do not receive this data. Uninstalling the App deletes it.
Optional cloud save and accounts
If you choose, you can create an account (an email address with a password, or an emailed sign-in link) to back up your progress and restore it on another device. Then we store, using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore): your email address, an account identifier, your saved progress with its two previous versions, a short summary of it (such as your level), a random identifier for each device that backed up, the times of the backups, and a record that you own Remove Ads. We use this only to provide the cloud save and the Remove Ads record, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising. Your account identifier and email are not attached to crash reports or usage reports. The data is kept until you delete it. To delete it, use Settings > Cloud save > Delete cloud save (the backup only) or Delete account (everything), or follow the steps at https://slash.catharticbliss.com/delete-data.html . If you no longer have the App, write to dev@catharticbliss.com from the address on the account.
Advertising
The App shows optional rewarded video ads using Google AdMob. Google and its partners may collect and use device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data to show and measure ads and prevent fraud. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and UK), the App asks for your consent before ads are requested, and you can change your choice later in Settings > Privacy options. On iOS you may also be asked for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites; you can decline and still play. Learn more: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Crash reports and usage data
The App uses Google Firebase (Crashlytics and Analytics) to receive crash reports and anonymous information about how the App is used, such as which zones are played, how far you get, whether fights are won, which screens and features are used, and how long after installing something happened. This helps us fix bugs and balance the game. These reports include technical details such as your device model, operating system version, and an app-generated identifier; they do not include your name, email, or anything you type. You can turn this off at any time in Settings > Share crash reports and usage data. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and UK), this also follows the choice you make in the consent prompt. Learn more: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Purchases
The one-time "Remove Ads" purchase is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not receive your payment details. The App only learns whether the purchase is owned, so it can turn ads off and restore the purchase on a new device.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can decline ad tracking in the consent prompt or your device settings, revisit your choice in Settings > Privacy options, delete your cloud save and account in the App (see above), and delete all local data by uninstalling. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights (access, deletion, objection) regarding data held by Google; contact Google or use your device's ad settings.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the effective date above.
